Jordan, Virginia L. Brown

Virginia L. Brown Jordan, age 86, of Charlottesville, Va. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Formerly of Saint Paris, Ohio, Virginia was born on October 19, 1929, a daughter of the late Leroy and Lena (Rush) Brown.She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Steven R. Paal of Charlottesville, Va., David L. (Tammy) Paal of Gainesville, Ga., and Susan Paal Larson (Glenn) of Richmond, Va. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Andrea Paal of Atlanta, Ga., Jeffrey Paal (Stephanie) of Lausanne, Switzerland, Christopher Larson of Alexandria, Va., and Andrew Larson of San Francisco, Calif.Virginia graduated from Johnson-St. Paris High School in 1947 and the Community Hospital School of Nursing, Springfield, Ohio in 1950. Her passion was nursing, working in this field for her entire career and retiring from the University of Virginia Medical Center in 1994. She also briefly taught nursing at the Charlottesville Albemarle Technical Center. Ginny was raised in the St. Paris United Methodist Church and was a member of the Rivanna Baptist Church of Charlottesville, Va. She was a past member of the Charlottesville Orchid Society and Horticulture Club, the King Fisher Club, and an active member of the Senior Center. She also loved dogs and was rarely without one throughout her life.Graveside funeral services were held on Monday, May 23, 2016, in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio.
